Private Discover Mermaid Courses
Dip your toes into the world of Mermaiding by scheduling a Private Discover Mermaid Course in the Charlotte, NC area! Students will learn to safely and effectively swim in mermaid tails that we provide.
Adults (ages 16+)
$45 per student for 1 hour +$20 each for each additional ½ hour
Children (ages 6-15)
$80 per student for 1 hour +$30 each for each additional ½ hour
What are the courses?
Discover Mermaid
Want to dip your toes into the world of Mermaiding? This course is a great place to start! Our PADI Discover Mermaid course is conducted in one session in water shallow enough to stand. Students will learn how to swim in a mermaid tail. This course does not include a certification or teach any mermaid tricks- we will just be swimming! Great for repeat private classes and private parties.
Water Depth: Shallow enough for students to stand!
Prerequisites: Students must demonstrate comfortability in the water, including endurance in swimming, treading, and floating.
Experience in a mermaid tail is not required.

Basic Mermaid
Ready for your first PADI Mermaid Certification? PADI Basic Mermaid includes one session at a maximum depth of 10 ft. Students will learn about breath holding, mermaid equipment, buddy procedures, and proper mermaid diving technique.
Water Depth: max 3m/10ft
Prerequisites: Ability to swim at least 25m/80ft without swim aids. Ability to float comfortably at the surface for at least 3 minutes.
Experience in a mermaid tail is not required.

Mermaid
Want to learn more than just the basics? Our PADI Mermaid Course will teach you more than just how to swim in a mermaid tail. Students will learn in-depth breath holding technique, mermaid equipment usage and care, mermaid diving technique, underwater agility, a variety of fun tricks, and mermaid safety! This course is highly recommended for adult beginners and experienced mermaids alike.
Water Depth: max 5m/15ft
Prerequisites: Ability to swim at least 50m/160ft without swim aids. Ability to float comfortably at the surface for at least 5 minutes. (This can be your first course, you do not need to be certified as Basic Mermaid prior to Mermaid.)
Experience in a mermaid tail is not required.

Advanced Mermaid
Let’s take your Mermaiding to open water! Advanced Mermaid will prepare you to be a true creature of the sea! After completing PADI Mermaid, you will be ready to dive into more advanced realms. Students will learn mermaid diving techniques and tricks in a lake, a spring, or the ocean. Students will also learn dive rescue.
Water Depth: max 10m/30ft
Prerequisites: Ability to swim at least 100m/320ft without swim aids. Ability to float comfortably at the surface for at least 10 minutes. Completion of PADI Mermaid.
PADI Advanced Mermaid may be taken immediately after completing the requirements for Mermaid. This means you can earn both Mermaid and Advanced Mermaid certifications in the same trip!
